Spring, TX — Police are looking into an accident that happened in Spring, Texas, over the weekend. A woman was killed after her car ran off the road and crashed into a tree on Saturday, September 20, 2014.
The accident happened in the 9400 block of Cypresswood Drive. The woman who died hasn’t been named. Police say that the collision split her car in half.
A cause for the accident hasn’t been found. The woman was alone when the accident happened and no one else was injured.

There’s not a lot of information for us to go on here, but considering the time of day in which this happened, it’s safe to say that fatigue or alcohol could have played a role. If this happened as a result of driver fatigue, there’s not much more we can say aside from how incredibly unfortunate it is. In accident scenarios where fatigue is a factor, Texas law doesn’t really have much to say on the matter. It’s just considered to be an accident unless there are abnormal circumstances to be considered, such as a fatigue-related accident happened because a professional driver was overworked. However, when you’ve got a single-vehicle accident that involves alcohol consumption, Texas law does indeed address that by imparting liability to the provider of alcohol, under certain circumstances. Again, this could very well have just been an unfortunate accident wherein neither fatigue nor alcohol consumption had anything to do with the wreck, but many single-vehicle accidents which occur in the early morning hours are attributable to those factors.
