Charlotte, NC — A motorcyclist was injured after crashing into pieces of furniture that had fallen out of the back of a truck on I-77 in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Saturday, September 6, 2014.
The accident happened right around Remount Round. Emergency workers coming onto the scene took the man to a local hospital. News reports say that his injuries are potentially life-threatening.
No names have been released. Police have said that the driver of the truck will be charged with failure to secure his load.

Police have already said they’re going to ticket the driver of the truck, so that should tell you something right there. If the furniture fell of the back of his vehicle because he failed to properly secure it, then of course he’s going to be liable for the motorcyclist’s injuries. Part of a driver’s responsibilities while out on the road are to do their part to keep others safe, and from what’s shown up in the news, it seems like the driver of the truck wasn’t able to do that.
