Lufkin, TX — A man had to be airlifted to a local hospital after suffering a head injury in a single-vehicle accident in Lufkin, Texas, on Thursday, September 11, 2014. The accident took place on Ellen Trout Drive, near the intersection with Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
The injured man was one of four people in the same vehicle driving along Ellen Trout before the car left the road and crashed into a tree. Police are still trying to figure out what caused the crash.
The driver, a 19-year old from Lufkin named Robin Liles, as well as two other passengers were uninjured. The passenger who suffered the head injury has not been named.
Police diverted traffic for a short time while the wreckage was cleared from the road.
