TITUS COUNTY, TX — Three individuals were seriously hurt after a collision that was reported in Titus County, Teas on Tuesday, August 12th, 2014, according to the news article from The Daily Tribune.

Three individuals were rushed to the hospital after the sedan they were in collided with a tractor-trailer after crossing from the southbound lanes to the northbound lanes while driving on Highway 271 around 10:30 Tuesday morning. The vehicle was spun by the impact before it caught fire. The tractor-trailer drove off the road and into a wooded patch just off the pavement.

Based on the few news reports pertaining to the accident that I see, I’m going to step out on a limb and say that the passenger car may bear some of the fault in this accident. But what happens when a passenger car, covered by run-of-the mill commuter vehicle insurance causes an accident where the damage far exceeds their policy limits? This is where a system of under-insured motorist coverage would step in. This is the policy that bridges the gap between the max policy limits of a driver, and the actual total of the damages, which comes in handy when you see a car crash into a storefront, commercial vehicle, or rare and exotic cars.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
