Nick Chenevert survives horrible accident
On Februrary 22, 2008 Nick Chenevert was changing a flat tire on the side of the highway in Houston, TX. Midway through the tire change, another driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into Chenevert sending him flying through the air over a gaurd rail where he crashed into the concrete 30 feet below. Chenevert's father was in the vehicle when the accident happened and he was certain his son was dead. Chenevert's father looked over the edge of the bridge and saw his son lying face down and motionless.
"I distinctinly
think that I heard the guy that came over with my father say, 'you
know, I think he's dead sir,'" Chenevert told reporters.
Remarkably, Chenevert did not die. However he did sustain major injuries including a fractured hip, shattered legs, a fractured skull, an open head wound, and a broken back. Even a month and a half after the accident Chenevert has not regained the use of his right arm.
In spite of his injuries, Chenevert is in good spirit and is grateful to be alive.
