Macon, GA — A woman was killed and another was injured when a dump truck overturned in Macon, Georgia, spilling a load of gravel on the road and partially crushing their car on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. The accident took place on Houston Road, around eleven in the morning.
According to reports, the dump truck and the victims’ vehicle were traveling in the same direction when the victims cut into the dump truck’s path. As the two vehicles came to a halt, the truck tipped over, partially crushing the victims’ car.
Killed in the accident was Donna Hyatt, the driver of the car. Ann McCallum was the passenger in the car. She was taken to a local hospital with a broken shoulder. Terry Howard, the driver of the truck, was also taken to a local hospital, but authorities had no information on his condition.
Houston Road was blocked off for several hours as law enforcement officials investigated the scene of the accident.
