Salem, OR — A man sustained life-threatening injuries after the motorcycle he was riding on was hit by a pizza delivery truck in Salem, Oregon, on Monday, August 4, 2014. The accident took place at the intersection of Silverton Road NE and Lardon Road NW.
According to local police, the motorcyclist was traveling along Silverton when the pizza delivery truck, traveling in the opposite direction, turned in front of him. Emergency workers responding to the accident found the motorcyclist bleeding profusely from a leg wound. They were able to get a tourniquet on him before he was taken to a local hospital.
The names of those involved have not been released. The Pizza Hut employee involved in the accident was not injured. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
