Penn Valley, CA — An accident on Highway 20 sent three people to the hospital in Penn Valley, California, on Friday, July 25, 2014. The accident took place around four in the afternoon.
Police have identified Victor Mendez as the driver of a vehicle that was allegedly speeding down Highway 20. Mendez lost control of his vehicle and and spun out into the oncoming lane of traffic, where he was hit by a Toyota 4Runner being driven by Johna Orzalli. Also inside the Toyota was Dalton Brown.
Both Orzalli and Brown were taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital with major injuries. Mendez was taken to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, also with major injuries.
The accident is still being investigated, however officials have said they don’t believe alcohol or drugs to have played a part.
