Commentary
Why do people flee the scene of an accident? Maybe they were drunk. Maybe they already had similar offenses on their records. Whatever the specifics, it all boils down to having done something wrong, and not wanting to be caught. It’s bad for everyone involved. It’s bad for the victims, and it’s bad for those who are running. Especially considering the fact that, once they’re caught, they’re going to be charged with fleeing the scene of an accident, which in Texas, is as serious a crime as intoxication manslaughter. These people need to be found and held responsible, because this kind of behavior is completely unacceptable.
