DELMONT, PA — A two-vehicle accident involving a passenger car and a tanker truck sent two individuals to the hospital in Delmont, Pennsylvania on Sunday, July 20th, 2014, according to the news article released by Trib Live.
Police think that two individuals were hurt when a tanker truck is believed to have collided with a passenger car for reasons currently under investigation while driving through the intersection of Route 66 and West Pittsburgh Street around 12:15 Sunday afternoon.
Scene of the Accident
Both the driver and passenger of the car were transported by EMS personnel to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. The driver of the tanker-truck was immediately unhurt in the collision.
The Pennsylvania State Police are assisting with the crash investigation at this time.
Commentary:
This is one of the accidents that really needs a second look in my honest opinion. Why? Because authorities need to figure out which one of the vehicles had the right-of-way at the intersection. If the tanker-truck involved in this accident is found to have rolled the stop, then the trucking company is probably going to be on the business end of some very difficult liability questions. Unfortunately, trucking companies sole goal in these situations is to mitigate the damage to their bottom line.
