Amarillo, TX — The rider of a motorcycle was injured in an accident with a minivan in Amarillo, Texas, on Friday, July 18, 2014. The accident took place on Hillside Road, just east of Bell Street. The accident took place around 4:45 in the afternoon.
The motorcyclist was driving east on Hillside when a minivan heading west attempted to turn into the parking lot of a day care center. The driver of the minivan claimed not to have seen the motorcycle and crashed into him.
The motorcyclist, whose name has not been release, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

Commentary
The driver of the minivan saying that she didn’t see a motorcycle coming at her in broad daylight isn’t really making any arguments in her favor. If anything, it says that she was either having a really hard time paying attention to the road around her, or just wasn’t doing it period. Of course, if the police investigation finds that what’s been reported in the media is, in fact, how things happened, then the minivan would be liable for the accident, and the motorcyclist would have a right to try and collect damages from the driver.
