According to San Antonio TX news reports an accident along Loop 410 with a suspected drunk driver left 23-year old Carlos Leal Jr. injured on August 2 2012 at about 11:00 at night. Police in San Antonio said that 30-year old driver Jose Gomez-Saldivar was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and was allegedly fleeing from local law enforcement.

Reportedly Saldivar was sleeping in his pickup truck and sped onto Loop 410 when police attempted to wake him. He then drove south in the northbound lanes where he caused Leal to swerve and strike a concrete median and overturn. Leal was taken to a local hospital after the accident with unknown injuries. Saldivar was arrested police said and was charged with failure to stop and render aid and driving while intoxicated.
