One Killed, Child Injured in Car Accident in New Waverly, Texas

NEW WAVERLY, TX — A fatal rollover accident left a driver dead and a child in the hospital in New Waverly, Texas on Friday, July 4th, 2014, according to The Montgomery County Courier.

Investigators think that one unidentified 47-year-old Male was killed, while a 9-year-old boy was hurt when the vehicle they were driving is believed to have experienced a rollover accident while driving on FM 1375 around 5:15 Friday morning.

Scene of the Accident

The driver of the vehicle was killed in the crash, while a 9-year-old passenger was taken by EMS to Conroe Regional Medical Center where they were last listed in critical condition by hospital staff.

The investigation into the crash is currently ongoing.

Commentary:

In the case of every single-vehicle accident, there is always a possibility that the accident was caused by a driver mistake, but looking at evidence of the scene could tell us more about what really happened. For instance, I’ve examined a single-vehicle crash that was presumed to be the fault of the driver, but simply by examining the skid marks on the road, we could determine that a tire blowout caused the crash, and the manufacturer of the tire was found liable because their product was not up to par. Again, all it would take to answer these questions is an in-depth look.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
