KATY, TX — Two people were hurt in a building structure collapse that was reported in Katy, Texas on Thursday, June 26th, 2014, according to the report from News 92FM.
Police have said that 100 people were hurt when a garage collapsed at a private residence that was loaded with 125 people on Park Mill Lane Thursday afternoon.

Two people remained in the hospital following the accident. Updates on their conditions were immediately unavailable.
The investigation is currently ongoing, and the Harris County Fire Marshal is assisting authorities in determining what may have happened.
Commentary:
This is the type of accident that is probably going to boil down to some form of premises liability. If the room could adequately fit the number of people standing on the floor, then the structure should have been able to support the weight. On the other hand, if the house was overburdened and overcrowded, the owner of the house could be liable simply for the fact that they endangered that many people by their actions. Either way, I’d be curious to know what happens with this one in particular.
