TYRE, NY — A three-car accident left one woman dead in Tyre, New York on Thursday, June 26th, 2014, according to the report from Syracuse Online.
Investigators say that they believe 62-year-old Cathie Garrison was killed when the vehicle she was driving was hit by a vehicle from the rear for reasons currently under investigation while driving on The New York State Thruway around 10:00 Thursday morning.

Cathie Garrison was killed in the crash. Injured was Clifford Wilder, who was flown by EMS personnel to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
The investigation into the crash is being handled by officials from The New York State Police.
Commentary:
Barring a mechanical failure or brake malfunction, the fault of this accident is probably going to fall onto the shoulders of the rear vehicle driver. Rear-end accidents are often caused by inattentive drivers, speeding, or following too closely, which are essentially all the responsibility of the driver, again, barring catastrophic malfunction.
