Bradley County, TN — A 23-year old man was hospitalized with serious injuries after his SUV was driven into by an 18-wheeler. The accident took place on Interstate 75, around 1:45 in the morning.
According to reports, the 18-wheeler collided with the SUV while it was pulled over on the side of the road. The collision caused the 18-wheeler to roll over off the side of the road. Emergency workers had to be called in to extricate the driver from the cab of the truck.

Commentary
From what’s been reported in the press, it definitely seems as if the 18-wheeler is at fault for the accident. What could have caused it? There’s a better chance than not that it was something as simple as driver inattention. If that’s the case, the trucking company is going to be liable for the accident. It’s possible that if the SUV didn’t have any lights on that the trucking company will attempt to use that as a defense. However, if, for whatever reason, the truck driver drove out of his lane and onto the shoulder, and that’s where the accident took place, then he’s going to be at fault for the accident.
