Authorities in Santa Fe TX stated that five people were injured in a head-on collision along FM 1764. The accident happened on July 4 2012 at about 9:09 in the evening. Police said that 53-year old Tony Raineys vehicle was driving east along FM 1764 and swerved into the westbound striking another car in a head-on collision.

Police identified the driver of the second car as Terry Regnier 34. He was injured in the accident along with the other four occupants in his car: Ashley Jackson 20 a 5-year old girl and two other young children. According to reports Rainey was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the wreck and was arrested on two counts of intoxication assault. Jackson and the 5-year old girl were taken to a hospital for their injuries. Regnier and the other two children were also taken to a hospital but only for minor injuries.
