VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — One person has died after a tractor-trailer accident that is believed to have been related to a medical emergency in Virginia Beach, Virginia on Saturday, June 14th, 2014, according to a news article released by WAVY.
Police handling the accident investigation say that they believe 46-year-old Alex Senegal died after the tractor-trailer he was driving crashed after it is believed that Senegal suffered a medical emergency while driving on Highway 58.

Alex Senegal was taken by EMS personnel to a nearby hospital where they died a short time later.
The investigation into the crash is being handled by officials from the Virginia Beach Police Department in conjunction with state agencies.
Commentary:
If this accident in fact turns out to be medically related in some form or fashion, then this accident and the driver need a good hard look. If this driver had a history of health problems, if he was under the care of a physician for an ailment, and his work was fully aware of his condition, yet pushed him anyways, the trucking company could be liable to some degree, but it would depend on the facts.

Many truck drivers, weather owner operators or company drivers are in these positions to make money: and I agree that the health and well being of the drivers is paramount…but with department of transportation regulations and rules, the drivers have to push through illnesses to make a paycheck.
Many drivers don’t get paid holidays…vacations…heck..some don’t Sven get home but maybe once a month.
This is a tragedy, a life lost…a family ruined…
Such a great loss. My heart goes out to his mom, his family, his wife & his children. Alex was a good hard working man. He loved his family & that is why he busted his butt to provide for his family. Doesn’t most of America have health issues? What are people to do, sit around? Can’t pay your bills and provide for your family. My GOD This man died! His family lost a loved one, his wife lost her husband and sadly his children now have to grow up without their father. All this man was trying to do, provide for his family and was trying to get to his children to spend Father’s Day with his children! It’s sad how people are easy to jump to judgement. Life is precious and too many people take life & their healthy life styles for granted. Alex, I always have and always will have much respect for you, Sir. It was an honor to know you and I was blessed to call you a friend. May I add, he served in our US Army… Show some respect!
