SHREVEPORT, LA — A tractor-trailer accident sent two people to the hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana on Saturday, May 17th, 2014, according to a news report from KLTV.
Officials have said that they believe two people were hurt when a tractor-trailer struck the Toyota Carolla they were driving while they were changing lanes on Interstate 20 around 10:20 Saturday morning.

Two people were taken by EMS personnel to a nearby hospital after the accident.
Authorities from the Shreveport Police Department were helping with the accident investigation and cleanup.
Commentary:
I may not have witnessed this accident, but judging on the news report, the truck driver is probably going to be feeling some pressure from investigators in the next coming days. You may think that just because truckers drive for a living, that they are impervious to driving mistakes, which is like saying an accountant is immune to mathematical error just because it is his chosen profession. Every day, people change lanes without checking their mirrors. Truckers are no different, and if this trucker failed to monitor his surroundings before making a maneuver, the trucking company needs to be liable, just as you would be if you did the same thing.
