Houston, TX — Nine students were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries after an accident in Houston, Texas, on Thursday, May 15. The accident took place in the 4800 block of Cairnvillage Street, near Gretna Green Drive, around 4:15 in the afternoon.
Two Cypress Fairbanks ISD buses were involved in the accident. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident have not been released. All that’s known is that the two buses hit each other.
The names of those involved in the accident have not been released.
Local authorities are continuing to investigate the accident.

It doesn’t sound as if there were any fatalities in this accident. It seems as if everyone involved is going to be alright. Unfortunately, traffic accidents involving school buses are always tricky, as the buses belong to the school district, which belongs to the city. As a municipal entity, they’re protected by sovereign immunity, which makes recovering any of sort of damages extremely difficult. Hopefully, if anyone was injured, the school district will be able to step in and make things right.
