ABILENE, TX — One man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident that happened in Abilene, Texas on Monday, May 5th, 2014, according to an article released by KTXS.
Investigators have said that they have reason to believe one person was hurt when the motorcycle they were driving collided with a vehicle that turned unexpectedly into their path while driving on Highway 277 around 8:00 Monday morning.
Scene of the Accident
The motorcyclist was taken by EMS personnel to a nearby hospital where he was last listed in fair condition.
Authorities from the Abilene Police Department is handling the crash investigation.
Commentary:
I’d be curious to know what kind of turn the car was making when the accident happened. Did the vehicle have the right-of-way? Was it clear to the victim that this vehicle was turning? If the driver of the car made an illegal turn, and caused an accident while he did, this accident would fall squarely on the shoulders of that driver. This is why these seemingly innocuous accidents are always worth a second look, because finding evidence only leads closer to the truth.
