Commentary:
I would be very interested to know how fast this truck was going when the accident happened? Why is this important to know? Simply put, the victims may have anticipated enough time and distance to pull off a turn in front of the truck, and if the truck was speeding at the time, they may have misjudged the turn. It is extremely difficult to determine the speed of a vehicle when it is driving at you, many of us have turned across traffic, only to look in our rear-view to discover that a speeding car has narrowly missed us. If this turns out to be the case here, the trucking company could be facing some serious liability related questions.
