DANA POINT, CA — One person died after a bicycle accident that happened in Dana Point, California on Tuesday, April 29th, 2014, according to the report released by the OC Register.
Officials have said that they believe that 38-year-old Haitham Gamal was killed when the bicycle he was riding on was struck by a vehicle when he was riding his bike on the Pacific Coast Highway.

Emergency responders pronounced Haitham Gamal dead on the scene by emergency responders when they arrived. The driver of the offending vehicle was not immediately identified.
The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
Commentary:
We really arent working with much information here considering the somewhat limited article about the crash. Liability in this situation is really going to depend on where the cyclist was at the time of the accident. If the cyclist was in a designated bike lane, sidewalk, or the driver may be facing some serious liability. If the cyclist was in the road at the time of the accident, things may get a little muddled depending on what caused the car to veer off the pavement.
