Commentary:
Whenever I see a hit-and-run, I just know people want to know what may be going on the drivers head. More often than not, its one of two scenarios. Either the drivers were flooded with a sudden, panicked fight or flight response and they drive away, only to return minutes later once their head clears. The other side of the coin is drivers with something to hide, which is almost always criminal in nature. Either they are wanted by police and they know it, or they may be intoxicated behind the wheel, I’ve seen both scenarios. If they were intoxicated, we can look to see if that evening they made any purchases at a bar, and then examine security footage from that bar or restaurant to gauge approximately how much he had to drink. People believe hit-and-run accidents are hopeless, but the technology to prove what was going on has grown by leaps and bounds, and is only getting better.
