Wharton, TX — A teacher and two students were injured in an accident while traveling back from a Career and Technical Education contest in Corpus Christi.
The accident took place north of Wharton, Texas, on Highway 59. Holly Mann and four students who are attending Whitehouse High School were hit by a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction. Mann, along with two of those students — Jacob Smith and Jennifer Aragon — were injured and hospitalized.
The woman driving the other vehicle, Joan Marie Novak, was given a blood test after the accident. Police say that Novak had a DWI on her record from 2012, and that this accident was being investigated as such.
The accident is still under investigation.
