Automobile Accident Wrongful Death Dallas Tollway

On Thursday, December 20, 2007, a tragic accident occured on the Dallas North Tollway.  Debris from an accident on the opposite side of the road flew through the window of Mr. Bill Bonds vehicle resulting in his death.  It is unclear at this point how the accident on the opposite of the Tollway actually occured, but the Texas Department of Public Safety would be in the process of performing a thorough investigation into the events of the accident.

The Department will usually produce an in depth police report accompanied with affidavits from witnesses and pictures/video.  A Freedom of Information Request should cause the Department to forward the report and all relevant evidence to whomever makes the request.

From a legal point of view this case would have both a criminal and a civil element.  The District Attorneys Office and the Dallas Police Department may decide to investigate the driver of the pickup truck for any possible criminal wrong doing.

A civil law firm would pursue any monitary damages which may be owed to Mr. Bonds family.

It is in the best interest of everyone in an accident that was as severe as this one, to hire legal counsel as soon as possible, because all evidence would need to be gathered immediately.  Having a private attorney would help to ensure that this would take place.

The fact that this happened during the holidays magnifies how tragic this situation really is.

As a Texas attorney practicing for 20 years, I have litigated all manner of personal injury cases. I use this blog as a place to write opinion / editorial articles on a variety of topics that catch my interest and as a means of sharing news stories relevant to personal injury accidents. I think the overwhelming majority of people are unaware just how common these types of accidents are and I hope this blog raises awareness to rather serious public safety concerns. However, this blog is simply a means for me to share my opinions and I would recommend that anyone who is considering seeking legal counsel should contact their family attorney.
