FREDERICKSBURG, TX — A small plane crash sent one person to the hospital in Fredericksburg, Texas on Wednesday, April 16th, 2014, according to a news report from KSAT.
Officials from the Fredericksburg Police Department believe one person was hurt when a small aircraft crashed near cattle stables after reportedly experiencing a mechanical failure.

A passenger in the plane was taken by EMS technicians to a nearby hospital where an update on her condition was not made available by hospital personnel.
The investigation into the crash is being handled by officials from The National Transportation Safety Board.
Commentary:
Plane crashes are very, very different animals than your average commuter vehicle accident by a wide margin. First of all, officials from the National Transportation Safety Board will be spearheading the crash investigation. The unfortunate nature of the NTSB is that the investigations is the fact that they generally take months and months to complete, and this generally tends to be too long for people waiting for answers. Fortunately independent investigations can yield at least some of the answers people may be looking for long before the NTSB investigation is completed. These independent investigation can also add to the picture painted by the NTSB.
The other factor to consider, was this plane manufactured or was it a home built aircraft? If this was a home-built aircraft that experienced a mechanical error, the builder may bear at least some of the liability in the accident. If the plane was built by a first party manufacturer, the manufacturer may bear the brunt of the accident if the mechanical failure is found in the crafts design.
