Commentary:
While the news report is essentially barren of details, we can always afford to talk about and educate people on under insured motorist coverage. Whenever a passenger car causes an accident that totals construction equipment or commercial vehicles, the motorists insurance rarely has the policy limit to cover the damages. This is where an Under-insured policy would step in and cover the gap between the offending motorists’ insurance and the actual value of the damages. This is how some small businesses have recovered after a car or truck crashes through their store or office.
