Over 1 Ton of Beef Recaled Due to Allergen Mislabeling
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, J&B Group Incorporated is set to recall more than a ton of beef products that failed to disclose on their packaging an ingredient of milk, a possible allergen. In total, the recall will cover approximately 2,600 pounds. The products were made between January and September of last year and were distributed in Montana, North Dakota, and Texas.
Commentary
Though there have been no reports of illness due to the mislabeling, my readers with lactic allergens should be aware of the recall. More than a ton of beef product is a very sizable recall, and indeed allergen sickness could be mistaken for other forms of illness.
