Dorel Juvenile Group Recalling Nearly 800,000 Child Seat Harnesses
According to the manufacturer, Dorel Juvenile Group is recalling nearly 800,000 child seat harnesses after discovering a faulty locking system. The lock and release button on the harness does not always return to the locked position, proving to be a possible danger to children. The harness can loosen when a child moves around in the seat, increasing the risk of injury in an accident.
Commentary Recently, there have been quite a few recalls on child safety seats. I'm not sure if manufacturers are auditing their product better, or creating more dangerous equipment. Either way, nearly 800,000 seats with a potentially flawed locking system poses a real threat to consumers. As the recall states, since the increase of injury is more than likely increased in the event of an accident, my readers should take extra caution in rectifying the situation.

As a Texas attorney practicing for 20 years, I have litigated all manner of personal injury cases. I use this blog as a place to write opinion / editorial articles on a variety of topics that catch my interest and as a means of sharing news stories relevant to personal injury accidents. I think the overwhelming majority of people are unaware just how common these types of accidents are and I hope this blog raises awareness to rather serious public safety concerns. However, this blog is simply a means for me to share my opinions and I would recommend that anyone who is considering seeking legal counsel should contact their family attorney.
