Bugaboo Car Seat Adapter Recalled Due to Fall Hazard
According to the USCPSC, Bugaboo Americas is recalling roughly 64,000 car seat adapters after a fall risk was determined. When the seat is positioned on a stroller such that the child faces forward, the seat can disconnect from the adapter and create a fall hazard, increasing the risk of injury. Bugaboo is aware of one injury from the defect. The company can be contacted at (800) 460-2922.
Commentary When a manufacturer discovers a flaw in one of their products, they will often issue a recall to mitigate liability. However, recalls are a slow process that can still leave defective products on the market, even following their conclusion. If an injury were to occur from a defect product, an investigation is needed to concretely link the injuries with the product in question. This is a very difficult task, as many of us perform tasks daily that could produce similar injuries. This is typically one of the first routes defense attorneys use in claiming their client's product did not cause the relevant injuries.

As a Texas attorney practicing for 20 years, I have litigated all manner of personal injury cases. I use this blog as a place to write opinion / editorial articles on a variety of topics that catch my interest and as a means of sharing news stories relevant to personal injury accidents. I think the overwhelming majority of people are unaware just how common these types of accidents are and I hope this blog raises awareness to rather serious public safety concerns. However, this blog is simply a means for me to share my opinions and I would recommend that anyone who is considering seeking legal counsel should contact their family attorney.
